Acceptable Use Policy
Magemcy is shared infrastructure for buyers and suppliers. This policy exists so that one account's behaviour cannot degrade everyone else's.
On this page 8 sections
The principle
Use Magemcy for legitimate procurement. Do not use it to break the law, to harm other users, or to take more of the service than your plan provides. Most of what follows is that sentence, made specific enough to act on.
What is not allowed
- Anything unlawful, or that facilitates something unlawful.
- Uploading malware, or content designed to exploit a vulnerability in our systems or someone else’s.
- Attempting to access data, accounts or workspaces that are not yours, including probing tenant boundaries or manipulating requests to see whether a rule holds.
- Circumventing plan limits, rate limits, quotas or access controls.
- Misrepresenting who you are, who you work for, or your authority to act for an organisation.
- Sending unsolicited bulk email, or using invitations and quote requests as a channel for marketing to people who did not ask for it.
- Uploading content that infringes copyright, trade marks or trade secrets, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Harassment, threats, or discriminatory content directed at anyone.
- Deliberately overloading the service, or interfering with anyone else’s use of it.
- Reselling or white-labelling Magemcy without our written agreement.
- Reverse engineering the service, except where law expressly permits it.
Content you upload
You are responsible for what you put in, tender documents, certificates, vendor records, invoices, and for having the right to put it there. That includes personal data about your suppliers’ staff: you are the controller for it, and our Data Processing Addendum sets out how we handle it on your behalf.
Magemcy is not designed for special-category personal data, payment card numbers, government identifiers, or classified material, and you should not upload them.
Vendor listings and tenders
If you publish a vendor profile, it must describe a real business you are authorised to represent, and its claims, capabilities, certifications, countries served, must be accurate.
If you run tenders, run them honestly: do not publish one you have no intention of awarding, do not use a tender to extract pricing intelligence from suppliers you will not consider, and do not share one bidder’s commercial terms with another. The sealed-envelope mechanism exists to make that boundary real; do not work around it.
Ratings should reflect actual experience of an actual job.
Automated access
Do not scrape the marketplace, the vendor directory or any other part of the service. Do not run automated clients against it without our written agreement. Rate limits are there to keep the service available for everyone; treating them as an obstacle rather than a boundary is itself a breach.
Using the assistants
Do not attempt to manipulate our AI assistants into revealing their instructions, into producing content unrelated to Magemcy, or into making commitments on our behalf. Nothing extracted that way binds us in any event, see AI disclosure: and attempts are logged.
Do not paste other people’s personal data into an assistant to see what it does with it.
Enforcement
Depending on what happened and how serious it is, we may contact you, remove content, restrict a feature, suspend an account, or terminate access. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right, an honest mistake and deliberate abuse are not the same thing, and we do not intend to treat them the same way.
Where the law requires it, or where someone is at risk, we may act immediately and report to the authorities.
Reporting misuse
If you see something that breaches this policy, tell us at our legal contact or through the contact form. Security vulnerabilities have their own route on our security page. Copyright complaints are handled under our intellectual property policy.
